Yes. Grounding yourself indoors is energetically the same as standing barefoot on the earth. Grounding products contain conductive fibre that creates a direct link with the Earth’s natural energy grid. Grounding is the natural rebalancing of effects caused by being insulated by flooring, shoes and pavements and thus being more prone to artificial electro-magnetic fields. The actual current inflow between you and the earth is small (and perfectly natural.) You might just feel it as a subtle warm or tingling sensation.
Grounding plugs are only connected via the earth connection: no current is drawn through the other two dummy plastic prongs. In the unlikely event that the earth line becomes live, a 150kΩ in-line resistor keeps the current well within accepted safety-levels.
CAN YOU GROUND YOURSELF TOO MUCH?
No more than you can stand on the ground too long. In fact, the more you ground yourself the better you’ll feel. However, if you know you are particularly sensitive to EMFs or if you find the grounding experience too much at first, then begin by grounding yourself for 10 – 20 minutes at a time and build up slowly. It is also helpful to ground yourself for a while before you go to bed.
When you first earth yourself, you may experience some mild detox effects while your body readjusts, so be sure to drink plenty of water and be reassured that this is a temporary phase in a benign process. What’s going on is the very same as sitting or sleeping on open ground.

Although it’s early days, grounding is gaining increasing recognition among doctors, practitioners and sports scientists, especially in the U.S. where it was ‘re-discovered’ for modern times in the 1990s.
WHAT ELSE DOES IT HELP WITH?
There’s growing evidence that grounding promotes many positive changes, often at the cellular level. Your body is a bio-electrical system that evolved billions of years before modern technology, and many experts now think many conditions are caused by inflammation, with the trail leading back to free radicals over-taxing our immune systems. In natural conditions your bio-electrics run at near zero-voltage (the same as the voltage at ground-level) and you stay free from free radical build-up. Grounding restores these natural low levels. For some the difference is near-instant and clear, and for others the changes take time.
It can also help people with high sensitivity to manmade fields, like wi-fi and mobile signals. Instead of being an insulated obstacle to man-made energy fields, a good ground connection keeps your body in a low-energy state with much less induced effects.

Often grounding is felt as a subtle kind of warmth and tingling, due to the fine in-flow of electrons coming up from the Earth to rebalance you. Both grounded bedding and the grounding cushion are really useful. Grounding yourself in sleep is a high priority. Night time is the natural time for rest and repair. It’s easy to do, you get many hours for the process to work for you and it’s probably the biggest single change you can make.
On the other hand, it’s really good to neutralise the effects of computers and machinery, and the grounding cushion also gives a much-needed postural lift. The grounding cushion is the most versatile product (at a pinch you can use it as a pillow too) but the pillowcase comes in as the most economical.
Walking on the grass or in the sea is healthy and pleasurable, but it’s unlikely you’ll get enough sustained contact to make a difference: occasional grounding is not really enough.
